Roasted Winter Squash Seeds

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Winter Squash
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt

Kid-friendly Option

  • Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon

Spicy Flavor Option

  • Chili Powder
  • Paprika

Instructions
 

  • Cut Winter Squash in half
  • Scoop out seeds and place in a colander
  • Rinse in cold water and separate seeds from squash
  • Place on oven sheet and spread out
  • Turn oven on at 250℉
  • Cook for 15 minutes, letting them dry
  • At minute 15, take out of oven
  • Stir seeds with olive oil and salt and other desired flavors
  • Place back into oven for another 15-20 minutes ( to desired crispness)

Notes

You can roast any winter squash seed to eat. Experiment with flavors. Winter squash seeds are also a great source of protein, fats and nutrients.
